Lot 2020 FINE CONDITION BSA TAKEDOWN MARTINI RIFLE IN 22 HI

POWER. Cal. 22 Hi Power. S# 19047. The 29-1/2" tapered round barrel fitted with front ramp holding small silver bead, has Birmingham proofs, S# and caliber markings on right rear. Bright blued small Martini action has takedown screw on left side which tightens receiver around barrel. Loosening screw lever allows barrel to be unscrewed once action is opened. Top of action is fitted with BSA patent folding aperture sight adjustable for windage and elevation. Action is engraved with about 70% coverage nicely cut scroll within geometric borders. BSA trademark is on left side. Horn capped pistol grip buttstock made of lightly streaked European walnut measures 14-3/8" over engraved steel buttplate. Grip is checkered with pattern running over the top. Sling eyes are on toeline and matching long forend with horn tip that screws to barrel. CONDITION: very fine plus. Barrel retaining nearly all original rust blue. Action shows some cleaned rust at top left and bottom right, otherwise 85% original bright blue remains. Nearly all case hardening color remains on opening lever and breech block with cartridge channel polished. Stocks retain over 90% original oil finish with many marks and dings. Checkering is dark; lightly worn with some missing diamonds. Bore is sharp and shiny throughout. Mechanically fine. Breech face has been shimmed with paper to insure tight barrel fit.
